Meteorologist for hire!
Talking with the camera comes naturally to me. No one ever had to drop the phrase, "say cheese!" I am a meteorologist first, a weather geek to the core. However, when severe weather is not the lead, my geekery recedes and the tides of infotainment wash in to draw the viewers' attention.
With no head for sales, I dove into Weathervibe.com; truly a fantastic experience for exploring my potential and preparing for a leadership position. Alas, not everyone is ready for web tv.
I do miss the thrill of going live and the intensity of severe storm coverage, as well as, the simplicity of connecting with viewers and being an integral part of the community. Yes, I have been away from local television news for five years. However, during this hiatus, I've grown. I left Chicago as a girl and will return to broadcast news as a woman.
